Cadet Families, Friday, October 27th 2017

Wet & Cold:  Well, that’s one way to start our first tournament of the year.  Valuable Lesson:  Dress Appropriately!!!  Tomorrow is going to be chilly but, after what I saw tonight, I’m looking forward to a great weekend of soccer.  If you haven’t received your uniform the coaches will have them before the start of the warm-ups.  Players, if you are not there early enough to receive your uniform and change before the warm-up begins then the coaches will have the players change once the game starts.

My thought’s tonight after talking with the coaches:
“What exactly is our number one priority and/or challenge in the development of the players placed in our charge?”

Let’s be honest, WE ALL LIKE TO WIN!

As the director of the Cadet Program, I can tell you that our goals are not the ones that will be scored this weekend.  The Cadet staff believes ours is a long-term approach to youth development and that our role as coaches, and the mission of the Cadet Program, is to help these young players find and travel the pathway, well equipped, that allows them to become servant leaders and Champions in Life.

Reminder:  The car ride to and from the games can be the most important factor in determining how successful your player is and how abundantly they develop a love for the game.

How do you measure success?

God Bless,

Stephen Otto
